Book : Drawing for Product Designers by Kevin Henry
May 13, 2014
Another quality publication from the Portfolio Skills line by publishing powerhouse Laurence King. For me these books balance information with illustration perfectly. I have often opened a design book with expectation of visual stimulation only to be disappointed with a heavy copy and dull layout.
In Drawing for Product Designers there are around 200 pages of top notch writing, illustrating, case studies & tutorials. Understanding sketching, orientation, form, line & space are all discussed in detail. Sometimes I had to read a section several times to get it(but I did in the end!-ed)
Aside from the obvious(budding product/industrial designer), I would recommend this publication to the creative that likes to know about the oft forgotten skill of sketching. It's a great reference book to add to the collection(I don't know about you but I'm still fanatical about the printed word) and browse through for some inspiration.
